Turmeric is part of the ginger [Zingiberaceae] family and it is valued in herbal medicine. Dry rhizomes are dug up, boiled and dried before being processed into powder.

Turmeric powder naturally contains curcuminoids known for its anti-inflammatory properties and also responsible for the bright yellow natural color.

For internal consumption:

To increase curcumin absorption , consume turmeric with fatty food- oil.
If using turmeric as the post workout supplement, take 1 tsp of turmeric powder with hot water (tea), hot milk , smoothie or soup.

For the external use, apply turmeric paste over joint swelling, boil, bruise, acne, fresh wound.
