General Description:

Commander 240EC is a broad-spectrum selective contact herbicide formulated to provide effective unwanted plant control in a variety of crops. With its powerful active ingredient, Oxyfluorfen, this herbicide targets and eliminates unwanted plants both before they emerge (pre-emergence) and after they have appeared (post-emergence). Active Ingredient:

Oxyfluorfen: 240 g/L. Oxyfluorfen is a potent herbicide that works by inhibiting the enzyme protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO), which is crucial for chlorophyll production in plants. This inhibition disrupts cell membrane integrity in the presence of light, leading to the rapid death of unwanted plants.

Target Unwanted Plants:

Commander 240EC is effective against a wide range of unwanted plants, including:

Broadleaf Unwanted Plants: Amaranthus spp., Datura stramonium (Jimsonweed), Tagetes minuta (Wild Marigold), etc.

Annual Grass Unwanted Plants: Avena fatua (Wild Oats), Eleusine indica (Goosegrass), Paspalum dilatatum (Dallisgrass), etc.

Application Instructions:

Onions (Transplanted): Apply when plants have reached the 2-3 true leaf growth stage. Apply directly after transplanting, followed by irrigation to activate the herbicide.

Onions (Drilled): Apply when the plant is in the 3-4 leaf growth stage (2-3 months after sowing). Application may be delayed for up to a month if unwanted plant development is slow.

Garlic: Apply immediately after planting. Leaf scorch and/or pig tailing may occur, especially under cold, wet, and windless conditions.

Brassicas (Cabbage, Broccoli, Cauliflower): Apply after final cultivation plant bed preparation but before transplanting. Sprayed soil should not be ploughed.

Maize (Corn): Apply as soon as possible after planting seeds but before crop emergence to ensure effective control of unwanted plants.
